Getting Started

New clients join the firm through multiple routes.   Some schedule a meeting to talk with Matthew and assess whether his style and approach are a good fit for them.  Others attend one of the firm's regularly scheduled events to learn about a specific topic or to hear his perspective on an aspect of financial planning.

Jarvis Financial clients become accustomed to long, thoughtful discussions with Matthew.   Patient and able to break-down complex financial concepts into meaningful language, he never asks a client to make a decision they are not 100% comfortable with.

As you engage with Jarvis Financial, you'll find that investment advice always comes last.  First we must understand your goals, how prepared you are for financially destabilizing events (i.e. mom needs a nursing home), your current and future tax situations, and your understanding of risk.  Only then can we make accurate investment recommendations.

To prepare for your initial consultation, you should gather the following documents:

  • Company Plan Statements (i.e. 401k, 403b, 457, etc)
  • All Other Investment Account Statements
  • Recent Tax Returns - 2 years
  • Estate Documents (i.e. Will, Trust Abstract)
  • Social Security Statements
  • Life Insurance and Long Term Care Insurance Statements
